During our first certificate award event for the Mentoring Programme in Angola we had the pleasure of interviewing Constância de Oliveira, a remarkable woman who has become one of the key mentors in our Professional Mentoring Programme. Constância is a mother of three, with a degree in administration, and works in accounting. While she has been primarily mentoring mothers of teenagers, her expertise lies in the professional mentoring of women in the financial sector.

During her time as a mentor with Femme Incroyable, Constância shared how enriching the experience has been. Despite her current focus on supporting mothers of teenagers, she realised through the programme that her skills and knowledge in finance could open up new avenues for her. She discovered that she could not only continue mentoring but also explore opportunities to monetise her expertise by starting her own business or offering corporate training sessions for finance departments.

One of the most impactful moments for Constância was seeing the progress of her mentee. Despite the challenges of a hectic life, with a young child and a demanding job, her mentee was able to implement crucial policies within her company's credit and collections department—policies that had been lacking but were necessary. This success, guided by Constância’s mentoring, was a powerful reminder of the value she brings as a mentor.

The experience has shown Constância that her contributions have a significant impact and that there is potential for her to further monetise her skills. Whether through starting her own business or providing financial training to companies, Constância sees a world of new possibilities ahead.

Her journey with Femme Incroyable has not only been a testament to the power of mentoring but also a personal revelation of the untapped potential she possesses to inspire and empower others while creating new opportunities for herself.
